Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 14, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Pocketpal (“Pocketpal,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Pocketpal mobile application (the “App”).

1. Information we collect

Account information

When you create a Pocketpal account, we collect your email address and an optional display name. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we also receive a unique identifier from that provider; we never receive your provider password.

Financial information

Pocketpal stores the transactions, budgets, and cash entries you create. If you opt in to bank linking, transactions imported from your financial institution are stored under your account. Pocketpal uses Plaid to connect to banks; Plaid’s own privacy policy applies to data they collect on our behalf. Pocketpal never stores your bank password.

Purchase information

Premium subscriptions on iOS are processed by Apple via In-App Purchase. On Android and web, premium purchases are processed by Stripe. Pocketpal does not see or store your full payment card details.

Device information

With your permission, Pocketpal stores an Expo push-notification token so we can deliver budget alerts and reminders. Standard system identifiers (model, OS version, app version) are logged when the app crashes so we can fix bugs.

Usage analytics

Pocketpal records anonymized product analytics events (e.g. “paywall viewed,” “transaction created”) so we can understand which features are useful. These events are not linked to your email address. You can opt out at any time from Settings.

2. How we use information

3. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers that are necessary to operate the App:

We may disclose information if required to do so by law, or if we believe such action is necessary to comply with legal process or protect our users.

4. Data retention

Your data is retained for as long as your Pocketpal account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Personal Info, which will permanently remove all stored transactions, budgets, and linked accounts within 30 days.

5. Children’s privacy

Pocketpal is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.

6. Your choices

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. Material changes will be announced in the App at least 7 days before they take effect.
