Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Pocketpal mobile application (the “App”) operated by Matthew Gaffney (“Pocketpal,” “we,” or “us”). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. By using the App you represent that you meet this requirement.

2. Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. Notify us at matthewgbusiness16@gmail.com immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.

3. Subscriptions and payments

Pocketpal offers an optional Premium upgrade with two plans:

Monthly subscription – auto-renews every month until cancelled. On iOS, billing is handled by Apple; you can manage or cancel at any time from your device Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Lifetime purchase – a one-time fee that grants access to Premium features for as long as the App continues to be maintained. Lifetime purchases are non-refundable except as required by applicable law or the platform’s refund policy (Apple, Google).

Prices are displayed in the App at the time of purchase. We may change prices for future billing periods with at least 30 days’ notice.

4. Financial data disclaimer

Pocketpal is a personal budgeting tool. It is not a bank, financial advisor, tax advisor, or money-transmission service. Numbers displayed in the App may be incorrect, delayed, or incomplete (especially transactions imported from third-party bank-linking providers). You are solely responsible for reconciling Pocketpal’s figures with your official bank statements and for any financial decisions you make.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the App.
Use the App to engage in any unlawful activity.
Attempt to circumvent the Premium paywall or interfere with our servers.
Resell or commercially exploit the App without our prior written consent.

6. Intellectual property

The App, including all text, graphics, code, and trademarks, is owned by Pocketpal and protected by copyright and trademark laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.

7. Termination

You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if you breach these Terms. Termination does not entitle you to a refund of subscription fees already paid except where required by law.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pocketpal shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) USD $50.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced in the App at least 7 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions.
